Simbarashe does a lovely job in getting into the psyche of these students, one by one, explaining the reasons for their behavior and why they act as they do. If there's a theme, it's people are both good and bad; even Eli loves animals and seems to genuinely care about Irene, although he can't seem to part with his wife or stop lying. WHY I RATED THIS NOVEL A 4 STAR:Originality and creativity - the world building was absolutely fantastic and unlike anything I have read beforeCharacterization - I enjoy reading novels where the males are Alpha types with caring but Dominant characteristics - I want my men to be men. If you like science fiction, buy the book. Still, there was enough to keep the story going, including a mysterious Lady of the Chalice who holds the secret to why Erekosë is in this world.
